They showed Abyss with Jeff Jarrett backstage, followed by a video package showing the recent feud between AJ Styles and Abyss. Goldlocks was also backstage and her and Abyss shared looks towards each other, a sign of things to come.

This is a ladder match, the winner would get a title shot at the NWA World Champion, Jeff Jarrett.

Abyss soon brought the ladder down to the ring, AJ tried to climb it, but Abyss pushed the ladder, with AJ falling to the mat.

At one point it looked like AJ was going to win, but Abyss attacked him with a chair. A Shock Treatment was soon after. Abyss pulled out another ladder and placed it between the ring and guard rail. He then set up two chairs, AJ was able to give him a Styles Clash and then a 450 from a ladder. Abyss then got powerbombed onto the chairs.

AJ had the match won, but Raven distracted AJ and Abyss tipped the ladder, sending AJ onto the ladder outside. Abyss then scaled the ladder and got the contract.
