Abyss would make his debut during the end of the match between Special K (Dixie, Hydro, Joey Matthews & Slim J) verses The Carnage Crew (DeVito & Loc) & The Ring Crew Express (Dunn & Marcos).

After Loc & DeVito hit a Splash Mountain Neckbreaker combo, the ref was distraced, allowing Abyss to make his surprise debut laying Loc out with Shock Treatment, allowing Special K to get the win.

Following the match, Abyss would give DeVito a Black Hole Slam, he would then destroy Dunn & Marcos with Black Hole Slams also.

Abyss would be introduced as Special K’s “insurance policy”.

This was Abyss's first debut for Ring Of Honor, but due to issues within the working releationship between ROH/TNA, it would be his last until 2005.
